Francisco Javier Pérez Sanchez (born July 22, 1978 in Murcia ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Career

Pérez turned professional in 2003 with the Milaneza cycling team . In the same year he was able to win two consecutive stages in the Tour de Romandie. After the Tour de Romandie 2003, Pérez was banned for doping with EPO for 18 months and had to pay a fine of 2000 Swiss francs.

In mid-2005 he moved to ProTeam Illes Balears-Caisse d'Epargne . For this team he won the one-day race Clásica de Almería and took part in several Grand Tours . His best placement was 28th place at the 2006 Giro d'Italia

At the end of 2011 he ended his active cycling career.
