Franck Langolff

Franck Langolff , actually Henri-Alain Langolff (* 1948 in Fès , Morocco ; † September 8, 2006 in Rouen ) was a French musician who has written pieces for numerous well-known French interpreters, including Sophie Marceau , Florent Pagny , Vanessa Paradis , Renaud , Johnny Hallyday , Alain Souchon , Patricia Kaas , Yannick Noah and Sylvie Vartan .

His greatest international success was Joe le taxi , which he wrote for Vanessa Paradis in 1987. In 1987, Joe le taxi was at the top of the singles charts in France for eleven weeks, was also number 1 in Belgium, number 8 in Germany and number 3 in Great Britain - at that time unusual for a French-language song.

Other titles well known in France are Morgane de toi (1983 for Renaud) and SOS Éthiopie (1985 with Renaud for Chanteurs sans frontières )

Langolff was a close friend and permanent musician of Renaud. He died of lung cancer at the age of 58 .
