Frank E. Flowers

Frank E. Flowers (full name: Frank Ewen Flowers Jr .; born August 1979 in the Cayman Islands ) is a British film director , producer and screenwriter .

Life

Flowers was born and raised in the Cayman Islands to Frank Sr. and Eve Flowers . He is the grandson of businessman Clarence Flowers and has a younger sister named Dara. Originally, his family hoped that he would learn one of the professions of the extensive family businesses on the Cayman Islands. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California , where he attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts .

As an independent film director and screenwriter, he celebrated his breakthrough in 2003 with the short film Swallow , which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival , acquired by HBO and won several awards. The feature film Haven followed in 2004 and was shown in selected US cinemas in 2006. Flowers also shot several music videos , including for Damian Marley , Ziggy Marley , Dwight Myers , Ironik , Jessica Lowndes and Jessica Sutta . Together with Sean Ellis , he wrote the script for the 2013 film Metro Manila .

Flowers was the first person to be honored with the Caribbean Heritage Organization of America's Rising Son award .
