Frank Göse

Frank Göse (born November 16, 1957 in Jüterbog , Potsdam district , GDR ) is a German historian .

Frank Göse graduated from the Potsdam University of Education in 1983 with a degree in German and history. In 1986 he received his doctorate; his dissertation deals with the history of the labor movement in Potsdam and Nowawes from its beginnings to 1890. From 1993 Göse worked as a research assistant at the University of Potsdam at the chair for early modern history. In 2002 he received his habilitation and was appointed as a private lecturer. Since 2007 he has been an adjunct professor at the University of Potsdam. He researches the Brandenburg state history of the early modern period, the history of the early modern nobility in the north-east German empire territories, military history and comparative state history. In 2012, Göse presented a biography of Friedrich I , the founder of Prussian royal dignity.

Göse is deputy chairman of the State Historical Association for the Mark Brandenburg and since 2006 deputy chairman of the Brandenburg Historical Commission . Since 2012 he has also been the spokesman for the Scientific Advisory Board for the First Brandenburg State Exhibition “Prussia and Saxony - Scenes from a Neighborhood”.
