Brandenburg State Exhibition

The Brandenburg State Exhibition is organized by the State of Brandenburg for particularly important exhibition projects. The location and a specific topic are coordinated. The Brandenburg Prime Minister takes over the patronage.

First state exhibition Doberlug-Kirchhain 2014

In 2014, the first state exhibition was held in Doberlug-Kirchhain from June 7th to November 2nd . On the subject of “ Prussia-Saxony. Saxony-Prussia . Scenes from a Neighborhood "the following stations were presented in the renovated Doberlug Castle :

  • Partners and Rivals - Developments up to the 17th Century
  • Royal Art - A look at the arts in Saxony and Prussia
  • A matter of faith - developments between Catholics and Lutherans
  • Of shine and glory - Prussian-Saxon careers
  • For supremacy - developments up to the middle of the 18th century
  • In dialogue - writers, scientists, artists and scholars
  • Saxon today, Prussian tomorrow - developments up to the middle of the 19th century

Further regional exhibitions, cultural routes and an extensive accompanying program were offered. The occasion was the 200th anniversary of the Congress of Vienna , when large parts of Saxony were ceded to Prussia. The exhibition was under the joint patronage of the Prime Minister of the State of Brandenburg Dietmar Woidke and the Prime Minister of the Free State of Saxony Stanislaw Tillich . The curator was the historian Anne-Katrin Ziesak . Historians Frank Göse and Winfried Müller acted as spokespersons for the Scientific Advisory Board .
