Frank Hirsch

Frank Hirsch (born June 26, 1939 in Stollberg ; † February 22, 2006 in Leipzig ) was a German conductor , music teacher and president of the Saxony Choir Association.

Born in Stollberg / Erzgebirge, Frank Hirsch studied school music and German studies from 1957 to 1960 at the University and the University of Education in Leipzig . Since 1960 he has worked at Leipzig schools as a specialist teacher for music and German and as a leader of school choirs.

In 1972 Frank Hirsch founded the Max Klinger Choir , from which an independent chamber choir, a youth choir and a children's choir as well as a preparatory choir for early musical education developed. The Max Klinger Choirs gained notoriety beyond Leipzig and performed under the direction of Frank Hirsch in many European countries as well as in the USA. From 1993 to 2006 Frank Hirsch was President of the Saxony Choir Association .

In 2001 Frank Hirsch was honored with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his life's work .
