Frank Itt

Frank Itt (* 1960 in Gedern , Hessen ) is a German bass player , music producer, author and lecturer.

Life

Frank Itt started playing the bass at the age of 18 and as an autodidact. He got his first professional engagement (as the successor to Kai Eckhardt-Karpeh ) with the Frankfurt jazz-rock formation "Leaf" under the direction of Georg Crostewitz. At the same time his band The Touch with the singer Terence Trent D'Arby developed very successfully (first prize of the German Phono Academy, 1983). He gave up his degree in electrical engineering at the TH Darmstadt in favor of a career as a musician. An offer from Jennifer Rush (1986) was the start of a career. Tours with u. a. Howard Carpendale , Al Bano & Romina Power, Michael Sagmeister Quartet, Jasper van't Hofs Pili Pili, Till Brönner , Matthias Reim , Lotto King Karl , Grooveminister , Jule Neigel Band , Marcus Deml 's Errorhead, The Real Groove Band, Electric Outlet , 3-bed room, Takashi's Penta Blue.

He was and is also a producer with bands such as Lotto King Karl, Jasper van't Hofs Pili Pili, Marcus Deml's Errorhead, Electric Outlet, The Real Groove Band, Der Bote or This Way Up.

Another musical field of activity is his work as a lecturer and band coach. He has been a lecturer and Chief of Department in the “Bass” department since the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg was founded in Mannheim (2003). In addition to working as a lecturer in many workshops and band camps, especially in promoting young musicians.
