Frank Lammers
Frank Albertus Gerardus Petrus Maria Lammers (born April 10, 1972 in Mierlo , North Brabant ) is a Dutch actor and director .
career
Lammers began his career at Strabrecht College in Geldrop. In 1995 Lammers graduated from drama school in Amsterdam and in 1998 directed the short film Kort Rotterdam: Temper, Temper . The then unknown Halina Reijn and Monic Hendrickx played in this film . In the same year Lammers made his debut in a short role as a homeless man in the film fl 19.99 . In 2000 he got a bigger role in the Dutch tragic comedy Wilde Mosels .
In the 2000s, Lammers continued to build his acting career and took on roles in film productions such as De Enclave (2002) and De dominee (2004). For his role in the first film he also received the Dutch television award Gouden Beelden . In 2006 Lammers took on the lead role in the psychological thriller Nachtrit , for which he was awarded the Golden Calf . In 2015 Lammers played the leading role of the legendary Fleet Admiral Michiel de Ruyter in The Admiral - Battle for Europe . With a budget of around 8 million euros, the historic action film by Roel Reiné was one of the most expensive Dutch film productions.
In 2017, his directorial debut Of ik k ben was awarded the prize for best film at the Footcandle International Film Festival in North Carolina, USA . In the same year Lammers also received the Bernhard Cultuurprijs for his noteworthy contributions to the promotion of culture in his home region of North Brabant.
Lammers is married to the writer Eva Posthuma de Boer .
