Monic Hendrickx (born December 13, 1966 in Stevensbeek , Netherlands ) is a Dutch actress.

Life

She gained her great fame through many film and television roles in mostly Dutch productions. She became internationally better known through the lead role in the award-winning film The Polish Bride from 1998, which was filmed again a few years later in Australia - again with her in the lead role - under the title Unfinished Sky . For her successful portrayal of the persecuted foreign prostitute in both films, she received several international awards for best actress. However, this did not give her a breakthrough as an internationally active actress. However, she is a popular actress in many films and series in the Netherlands. For this she received a total of four Golden Calves in the course of her career, along with other prizes . She played the leading role in the successful Dutch crime series Penoza , which ran from September 12, 2010 to October 29, 2017 on NPO 3 .

In 2008 she was guest of honor at the Dutch Film Festival .

In 2012 she played various roles in the solo program Oxytocine . She is accompanied by two musicians and a singing voice . The music theater piece was written by actor and author Rogier Schippers.

She lives in Zaandam with her husband Ralph Vermeesch and their daughter Javaj, who was born in 2001 .
