Frank Marcus Mann

Frank Marcus Mann (born February 25, 1948 in Friedberg ) is a former German diplomat who was ambassador to Yemen from 2003 to 2007 , ambassador to Cambodia between 2007 and 2010 and most recently from 2010 to 2013 ambassador to Kuwait .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1966, Frank Mann did his military service in the armed forces between 1967 and 1969 and then began studying law , which he completed in 1973 with the first state examination and in 1976 with the second state examination.

He then began his preparatory service for the senior foreign service in 1976 and, after graduating in 1978, he joined the Foreign Office . This was followed by uses at the embassies in Burma from 1978 to 1982 and between 1982 and 1984 at the embassy in Bulgaria and from 1984 to 1988 as a consultant in the Foreign Office.

After working at the embassy in the People's Republic of China from 1988 to 1991 , Mann was first from 1991 to 1993 as a lecturer in the Legation Council and then from 1993 as a lecturer in the Legation Council, first class, head of a department at the Foreign Office in Bonn. From 1996 to 1999 he was employed as permanent representative of the ambassador in Finland .

From 1999 to July 2003, Mann was again head of a department at the Foreign Office. He was finally ambassador to Yemen until 2007 and ambassador to Cambodia from July 2007 to 2010 .

From July 2010 to June 2013, Mann was the German ambassador to Kuwait and then retired when he reached the age limit. His successor was Eugen Wollfarth , who was previously Ambassador and Head of the OSCE Mission in Albania .
