Frank Pergande

Frank Pergande (* 1958 in Berlin ) is a German journalist and book author.

Life

Pergande grew up in the GDR and studied journalism in Leipzig . In 1982 he completed his studies with a thesis on the history of the 'Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung' - a contribution to researching the function of imperialist journalism in the FRG . Among other things, he looked at the “role of the FAZ in the state monopoly apparatus of manipulation in the FRG”.

He later worked for various local newspapers before joining the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in 1998 . Until July 2017 he was the newspaper's political correspondent for the northern German states of Hamburg , Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Since August 2017 he has been writing for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung based in Berlin.
