Frank Plagge (born April 18, 1963 ) is a former German soccer player and today's soccer coach .
Career
From 1981 Frank Plagge completed three seasons in the third-class Oberliga Nord for MTV Gifhorn . From there he moved to the Bundesliga for Eintracht Braunschweig . Plagge made his debut at the start of the 1984/85 season at home against 1. FC Köln . With nine points behind a non-relegation place, Plagge rose with Eintracht. During the season he was used 32 times and scored two goals. On the 8th matchday of this season, Plagge and his teammates lost 10-0 at Borussia Mönchengladbach . He commented on this defeat " ... that was just terrible. I'm probably one of the few players in German football who kicked off eleven times in a game. After relegation, Plagge played another season at Eintracht, in which the club finished twelfth in the 2nd Bundesliga . Plagge scored 13 goals in 31 games, making him the top scorer of his team ahead of Ronald Worm . In 1986, he said goodbye to Eintracht and moved to VfL Wolfsburg , who at that time was in In his second season with the Wolves he just missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the DFB-Pokal , Hannover 96 was defeated 3-0 in the 1st round of the Bundesliga , with Plagge converting a penalty. In Plagge finished second in the league behind his former employer from Braunschweig, who had been relegated to third division without him. After the successful promotion, the striker moved to SV Grün-Weiß Calberlah for a year before returning to the Wolves in 1993. After two years in Wolfsburg, during which Plagge was rarely used, he switched to MTV Gifhorn, followed by positions at TSG Mörse and SV Brunsrode / Flechtorf, where he ended his career as a player-coach. With a total of 151 goals, Frank Plagge is the record scorer in the third-class Oberliga Nord .
Plagge was only a full professional during his two seasons with Eintracht Braunschweig. Otherwise he was employed throughout his entire career at Volkswagen AG , where he still works in the IT service area today.
