Frank Weisse (born December 25, 1949 in Leipzig ) is a former German soccer player. In the top division of GDR football , the Oberliga , he played for 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig . For the DFV he was active in the U-18 national team .

Athletic career

BSG and club stations

As an 18-year-old Frank Weisse played his first games in the GDR league. Towards the end of the 1967/68 season, he was used as a striker in three matches for 1. FC Lok Leipzig, twice as a substitute. For the 1968/69 season he was officially included in the league squad, but was only used in eight league games between the 7th and 17th matchday. In addition, White played twice in the GDR soccer cup , where he also scored his first goal for 1. FC Lok. At the end of the season, FC had in the DDR-Liga dismount, but managed its chances of promotion and also reached the Cup final. White was involved in the rise with 16 league appearances in 30 rounds and one goal. His three cup appearances, in which he scored three goals, also included the quarter-final game between Dynamo Dresden and 1. FC Lok. In the 2-1 victory of Leipzig he was substituted on in the 62nd minute, but was no longer able to score. In the 1970/71 season, white was no longer part of the league squad and instead played with the second team in the third-class district league .

From the 1971/72 season on, White played for the ASG Vorwärts Leipzig army sports club in the GDR league. In his three seasons as an army footballer, he was used as a defender and played 53 games out of 64 league games and scored two goals. In 1973 the ASG was the season winner and took part in the promotion round to the league, but could not qualify as the tournament bottom. Of the eight promotion games, White completed six encounters and scored a goal. At the beginning of the 1974/75 season he returned to 1. FC Lok Leipzig, whose 2nd team has now also played in the GDR league. There whites came in 15 of the 22 league games on as a defender without scoring a goal, then the team rose again from the district league. White spent his last season in GDR-wide game operations in 1975/76 with GDR league club Chemie Bohlen , but only played two league games there. At the age of only 26, he then ended his career as a professional footballer. Within new seasons he had completed eleven league games and 86 GDR league games and scored three goals in the GDR league.

Selection bets

With the GDR junior national team he stayed in April 1968 at the UEFA junior tournament, the unofficial European championship in this age group. The GDR U-18s, for whom he ran a total of nine times (one hit), with the coaches Manfred Pfeifer and Heinz Weber, retired in southern France without a win in the preliminary round.
