Frank van Eijs (born November 2, 1971 in Stein ) is a former Dutch football player who was under contract in eight countries over the course of his career.

Career

Frank van Eijs began his active career at the amateur club RKVV IVS in Stein. After engagements at Fortuna Sittard and the RKFC Lindenheuvel , he played in Belgian amateur football first at CS Mechelen-Aan-De-Maas and the following season at RC Mechelen . This was followed by a trial session at the English professional club Oxford United before he returned to the Netherlands and played for FC Vinkenslag .

In 1999, the central defender completed a successful trial session at the Scottish first division club FC Dundee and made 16 league appearances in the 1999/2000 season. In his second year at Dundee he was no longer considered by player- coach Ivano Bonetti and left the club after his contract expired in May 2001.

After a few weeks with the German regional league team Rot-Weiss Essen , he returned to TOP Oss in the Netherlands for a short time before his next engagement led him to the Chinese first division team Qingdao . In 2003 he returned to Europe and played in Germany for SV Meppen in the Oberliga Niedersachsen / Bremen .

In October 2004, van Eijs joined the relegation-threatened German league club Borussia Freialdenhoven , but left the club after five missions at the end of the year and moved to Vietnam to Hà Nội ACB . In March 2005, he signed a contract with the New Zealand A-League club New Zealand Knights . After a disastrous first season, in which only six points from 21 games were book, he was hardly considered in the 2006/07 season and left the club halfway through the season. After returning to the Netherlands, he was still active for the amateur club FC Vinkenslag.
