Frans Van Looy ( August 26, 1950 in Merksem , Antwerp Province - September 20, 2019 in Merksem , Antwerp Province) was a Belgian road cyclist and team manager . Van Looy was a professional from 1972 to 1982. At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich , he took part in the road race.

Career

After his career as a cyclist, Van Looy worked as a team manager at Team Telekom and T-Mobile until 2006. Even though he had celebrated a few victories as an active road cyclist, he celebrated the greatest victories as the supervisor of Jan Ullrich and Erik Zabel .

Parental home and death

It appears that he committed suicide due to difficulties with his parents' home.
