Career

Nacken started playing football at Viktoria Alsdorf when he was ten years old and - having grown out of adolescence - moved up to the first team for which he played point games in the Rheinbezirksliga , the top amateur division of the Middle Rhine Football Association at the time .

For the 1964/65 season he moved to Alemannia Aachen in the second-rate Regionalliga West , in which he played 27 league games and scored eight goals by the end of the 1966/67 season . He made his debut on August 9, 1964 (1st matchday) in the 0-2 defeat in the away game against Eintracht Gelsenkirchen . The attack by the black and yellow was started in the line-up with Heinz-Gerd Klostermann , Nacken, Josef Martinelli , Herbert Gronen and Rainer Schönwälder . He scored his first goal on October 25, 1964 (11th matchday) in a 4-0 home win against Westfalia Herne with the opening goal in the first minute. In its first season, Alemannia Aachen under coach Oswald Pfau took second place behind Borussia Mönchengladbach and consequently took part in the promotion round to the Bundesliga , which has been newly created since 1963, as the highest German division, in Group 2 . Out of four teams, his team, for which he played four games and scored two goals, finished third.

For Alemannia Aachen, he was also used in five games in the DFB Cup competition. He made his debut on January 16, 1965 in a 3-1 first-round victory over VfL Osnabrück in which he scored the 2-0 goal in the 30th minute. He reached the semi-finals by winning the round of 16 1-0 at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen on February 7 and winning the quarter-finals 2-1 over Hannover 96 on February 27 , which was 4: 3 on April 17 after extra time against FC Schalke 04 was won. The final against Borussia Dortmund , held on May 22nd in Hanover in front of 55,000 spectators, was lost 2-0.

In his last season he emerged as the champion of the Regionalliga West. Then he was only used in the away game at Göttingen 05 (2: 1) in the promotion round to the Bundesliga in Group 2 . Alemannia emerged victorious from the group and rose, but without him. Nacken returned to Alsdorf , part of the Aachen city region, and later ended his active football career with Viktoria Alsdorf.
