Rainer Schönwälder

Rainer Schönwälder (born February 29, 1940 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a former German football player . The offensive player belongs to the group of active players who got the ball rolling in the debut round of the Bundesliga in 1963/64 . He has scored eleven goals in 24 Bundesliga appearances for 1. FC Saarbrücken .

Athletic career

At the age of ten, Schönwälder played at Schalke 04 . In the 1960/61 season he played at Eintracht Gelsenkirchen in the 2nd League West . Private

Schönwälder has lived in Düren since the 1970s . Until his retirement he worked as a pharmaceutical representative .
