Hans-Dieter Diehl (born August 23, 1941 in Schrecksbach ; † October 16, 2012 ) was a German football player . The defensive player completed 21 games in the Bundesliga for 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 1963/64 season .
Career
Diehl, who came to 1. FC Saarbrücken from SV Wahlschied in 1959 , has played with the black-and-blue team from the Malstatt district in the Southwest football league since the 1960/61 season . Under coach Jeno Csaknady , he made his debut on August 14, 1960 in a 1: 3 away defeat against VfR Frankenthal as a center forward in the league. In addition, the "Molschder" had signed the players Klaus Fritzinger , Karl Meng and Horst Remark . In the further course of the lap, Diehl mostly formed the runner row with Peter Krieger and Werner Hesse and in attack the two strikers Herbert Martin and Heinz Vollmar provided the necessary goals to win the championship before the rivals Borussia Neunkirchen, FK Pirmasens and 1. FC Kaiserslautern. The ex-amateur player from electoral elimination completed 28 league games in his first year as a contract player and scored eight goals. In the final round of the German soccer championship in 1961, there were six more games with one goal against competitors Eintracht Frankfurt, Hamburger SV and Borussia Dortmund. By the end of the league era 1962/63 Diehl came to a total of 67 league games with 17 goals for 1. FC Saarbrücken. In the last league year of 1962/63 , a fifth place was enough for the blue-blacks, trained by Helmuth Johannsen from 1961 and with 29-times goalscorer Dieter Krafczyk in attack in 1962/63 , in order to ensure the new concentration of performance in the Bundesliga for the 1963 season / 64 to be nominated.
After the introduction of the Bundesliga, he played in the first division for a year. He is one of the players who got the new league up and running on the day it started, August 24, 1963. 1. FC Saarbrücken received the West German champions 1. FC Cologne. Under the new coach Helmut Schneider , Diehl formed the attack formation in the World Cup system, which was still in use at the time, on half right with Vollmar, Krafczyk, Werner Rinass and Meng. In front of 35,000 spectators, the later first German champions in Bundesliga history prevailed with 2-0 goals. At the end of the round, Diehl and colleagues were relegated to 1. FC Saarbrücken from bottom of the table. Diehl had played 21 games in the Bundesliga. On September 25, 1963 he was appointed by the DFB for the international match against Bulgaria in the junior national team U 23 . The game was lost in the Karlsruhe Wildpark Stadium with 0-1 goals. Diehl came on as the right runner for Rudi Entenmann from Stuttgart and played alongside middle runner Peter Kaack and Wilhelm Sturm .
After relegation, he played in the Regionalliga Südwest until 1972 . In the first year in the second division, 1964/65 , he won the championship in the southwest with Saarbrücken. He had contributed twelve goals in 30 league games alongside striker Emil Poklitar (27 goals). In the promotion round he was in four games (1 goal) in action. Outstanding was the 1-0 home win on June 5, 1965 against the promotion favorites FC Bayern Munich. This was followed by two runners-up championships in 1966 and 1967 and a further eleven promotion round games (1 goal); the return to the Bundesliga did not succeed. After a total of 151 regional league appearances with 27 goals, he ended his activity for Saarbrücken after the 1971/72 season under coach Horst Zingraf .
He also made eight appearances and one goal in the DFB Cup . He later moved to KSV Baunatal and ASC Dudweiler .
