Franz Seraph Beck (born April 30, 1846 in Aichach ; † October 23, 1918 there ) was mayor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Beck attended elementary school in Aichach. From 1869 to 1875 he was the manager of his parents' property, especially an art mill , which he then ran from 1875 on for his own account. From 1876 to 1897 he was the municipal representative of Aichach and since 1897 magistrate. Between 1888 and 1894 he was a member of the Upper Bavarian District Council and since 1891 a member of the Upper Bavarian District Committee.

From 1898 to 1912 he was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of Upper Bavaria  3 ( Aichach , Friedberg , Dachau , Schrobenhausen ) and the German Center Party . From 1912 he was mayor of his hometown, of which he became an honorary citizen on July 30, 1916. He donated a home for the elderly and also made donations to the hospital, the orphanage and the church. A street in Aichach is named after Franz Beck.
