Franz Braun (politician, 1898)

Franz Braun (born April 22, 1898 in Würselen , † February 24, 1970 in Baesweiler ) was a German local politician and honorary district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, he completed an apprenticeship and was employed by the Carl-Alexander union in Baesweiler from 1912 to 1963 , most recently as a foreman. Braun was married and had two children.

He was a member of the district council of the former district of Geilenkirchen-Heinsberg from 1946 to 1970. From November 5, 1954 to November 26, 1969, he was district administrator of the district. From 1946 to 1964 he was a member of the town council of Baesweiler and from September 26, 1946 to October 13, 1964 mayor .

Braun was a member of various committees of the district council of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class on April 22, 1965.
