Franz Burgmeier (born April 7, 1982 in Triesen ) is a former Liechtenstein soccer player . He last played for FC Vaduz from 2009 to 2018 and then served as the club's sports director.

Career

Franz Burgmeier began his career at FC Triesen . In 2000 he moved to FC Vaduz and a year later he made his debut in the Liechtenstein national football team . In the 2006/07 season, the midfielder played for FC Basel in the Super League . He made his competitive debut on July 13, 2006 in a 3-1 home win against Tobyl Qostanai in the 2006/07 UEFA Cup . In 2008 it was awarded to FC Thun . After he could not prevail in the top Swiss league, he moved to the English Football League Two club Darlington FC for the 2008/09 season . After a season in the fourth highest English league, he returned to his homeland and signed a contract with FC Vaduz. At the end of the 2017/18 season , Burgmeier ended his career as a professional footballer after 17 years.
