Franz Christophe
Franz Christophe (born September 23, 1875 in Vienna , † January 31, 1946 in Berlin ) was a German draftsman and illustrator. He used the monogram "CHR".
Life
Christophe first worked as a self-taught draftsman and illustrator in Munich , then in Berlin. His drawings have appeared in German magazines such as " Die Jugend ", " Simplicissimus ", "Das Narrenschiff", " Funny Blätter " and "Der Amethyst". He also designed small ceramic sculptures. He illustrated books and edited graphic series. The influence of Aubrey Beardsley is noticeable in his work .
He became a member of the Association of German Illustrators, exhibited his works at the Berlin Secession and at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition . He also appeared as an actor.
