Franz Egger (politician)

Franz Egger (born September 25, 1810 in Laibach ; † February 6, 1877 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician and lawyer.

Life

Franz Egger studied law at the University of Vienna and was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD. From 1843 to 1877 he worked as court and court counsel in Vienna. He was director of the Erste Österreichische Sparkasse and the national bank. In addition, Egger was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly in 1848 (parliamentary group: Café Milani ) and was also a leader in musical organizations. Egger was involved in the Society of Friends of Music in Vienna and the Singakademie .

Several generations of lawyers come from his family (Franz Egger junior, † 1888; Gustav Egger, † 1926; Ernst Egger, † 1952).
