Franz Ernst Theodor Funk

Franz Ernst Theodor Funk (born September 21, 1768 in Neuen-Rhese / Mecklenburg-Strelitz , † January 13, 1820 in Berlin ) was a Prussian construction clerk and electricity builder .

Career

Franz Ernst Theodor Funk was examined in 1786 as a surveyor and in 1795 as a master builder at the Oberbaudeputation in Berlin. Until 1797 he worked in hydraulic engineering in the province of Brandenburg and was then employed as a master builder in Minden . In 1809 he was employed by the government of the Kingdom of Westphalia as a master electricity builder for the Weser . After the dissolution of the Kingdom of Westphalia, he entered Prussian service in 1815, first as an employee, from 1816 as a member and secret senior building officer in the senior building deputation. During his 13-year tenure, he was in charge of important construction work, especially in electricity construction on the Oder , Elbe and Weser rivers and on the salt pans in Westphalia. He was in charge of making the Saale navigable from Weißenfels to Halle , making the Lippe navigable , connecting the Lippe with the Ems and important buildings on the Rhine and Ruhr .
