Franz Hagmann

Franz Hagmann (born July 6, 1941 in Kirchberg , Canton St. Gallen ; † February 13, 2008 in St. Gallen ) was a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

biography

Franz Hagmann studied German at the University of Friborg . He graduated with a doctorate and then taught German and French for 14 years at the Cantonal School at Burggraben in St. Gallen . He then became administrative director of the University of St. Gallen (HSG). As a part-time job, he was President of the Eastern Switzerland Radio and Television Company, then President of the Radio and Television Company of German and Romansh Switzerland (DRS) and Vice President of the Swiss Radio and Television Company SRG .

In 1992, Franz Hagmann was elected to the St. Gallen City Council (executive), followed in 2004 by the election of city ​​president . From 1993 to 2004 he was in charge of the administration of the technical operations (today the technical operations department), from 2005 to 2006 he was head of the internal affairs and finances department. At the end of 2006, Franz Hagmann resigned because of cancer.

From May 1, 1996 to September 27, 2006, Franz Hagmann was a member of the Cantonal Council of the Canton of St. Gallen . For five years he held the position of parliamentary group president of the CVP.

On February 13, 2008, Franz Hagmann succumbed to lengthy cancer.
