What some have always suspected and many did not know that Pastor Jantsch lived in cohabitation with Erika Schreihans for several decades and that a son also emerged from this relationship.
In 2004 he was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art, 1st Class .
He was buried in the cemetery in Hinterbrühl.
