The writer Franz Kafka tries to start work on his novel The Metamorphosis in his apartment . He wants to work out what his fictional character Gregor Samsa should wake up as. But he is constantly disturbed. A peddler desperately wants to sell knives and cleavers, a woman sells joke items, while other women throw a Christmas party.

criticism

Rita Kempley of the Washington Post said director Capaldi had created a delightfully improbable parody that was oddly heartwarming.

Awards

In 1995 , the film was awarded an Oscar in the Best Short Film category, together with the short film Trevor . It also won the British Academy Film Award in the Best Short Film category and the Angers European First Film Festival Audience Award .
