Franz Karl Waldbott von Bassenheim (born May 11, 1760 ; † 1804 ) was canon in Hildesheim and Münster .

Life

Franz Karl Waldbott von Bassenheim came from the Rhenish noble family Waldbott von Bassenheim and was the son of the electoral Cologne privy councilor Clemens August Waldbott von Bassenheim and his wife Wilhelmina Edmunda von Loe zu Wissen. His older brother August Wilhelm was a treasurer and captain of the Electorate of Cologne, the younger brother Maximilian Friedrich was Lord of Bornheim and Albrück. In 1783 Pope Pius VI transferred to him . a cathedral protector in Hildesheim . Three years later he received from Theodor Joseph von Wrede zu Amecke his preamble in Münster . Here he was sworn up on June 9, 1786 . As early as 1791, Franz Karl renounced his benefice. The prince-bishop awarded this to Clemens August Droste zu Vischering . Franz Karl married Maria Barbara von Elverfeldt, daughter of Canon Clemens August von Elverfeldt zu Steinhausen . From the marriage came the son Victor Ignatius (1798–1848, ∞ Ferdinande von Quernheim) and the daughter Theresia (* 1792, Canon in Nottuln ). The Elector Maximilian Franz agreed to this Dimission and entrusted him with the office of Electoral Cologne Governing Council.
