Franz Kellinger (born December 1, 1905 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ; † June 17, 1941 in Bârlad , Romania ) was an Austrian national soccer player .

Career

Franz Kellinger was considered an energetic and robust player. He began his football career as a center half at what was then the small favorite club SV Wienerberger , from which he joined the first division club SpC Rudolfshügel in 1925 . After the dark blues were relegated in the 1926/27 season , he was lured away by the Wiener Sport-Club , for which Franz Kellinger played regularly in the first division until 1936 , with the exception of a brief interlude at SK Admira Vienna in autumn 1930. The sports club Club was one of the smaller clubs in the league at the time, but Franz Kellinger was always able to keep the class with the Dornbachers and in 1928/29 get his best result with fourth place.

On October 6, 1929 he even played an international match in the Austrian national team against Hungary in Budapest, where he was unable to convince his critics at 1: 2, however, as a Smistik replacement. After his time at the sports club, Kellinger was active for two more seasons for SC Amiens in the French Division 2 before he returned to Austria in 1938 and only narrowly missed promotion to the top division with WSV (Werksportverein) Brevillier & Urban Neunkirchen .

Franz Kellinger fell in World War II .
