Franz Xaver Kohlschein

Franz Xaver Kohlschein (born July 6, 1934 in Warburg ) is a German Roman Catholic priest, theologian and professor of liturgical science .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1954, he entered the Paderborn seminary and studied Catholic theology in Paderborn , Lyon and Munich . On December 19, 1959, he was ordained a priest in Paderborn. He then worked as vicar in the parish Herz Jesu in Dortmund-Hörde and - during his doctorate in Münster - as prefect in the Clemens-Hofbauer-Kolleg in Bad Driburg . In 1969 he received his doctorate under Emil Joseph Lengeling at the University of Münster with a thesis on the Paderborn Liber Ordinarius of 1324.

In 1979 he was appointed professor for liturgical science and church history at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences in Mainz . From 1984 to 1999 he taught as professor for liturgical science at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Bamberg .
