Franz Kram (also: Franciscus Chram, Crammius, Chrammen etc .; * 1516 in Sagan ; † April 28, 1568 in Leipzig ) was a German legal scholar and Elector of Saxon Chancellor.

Life

Kram was matriculated at the University of Wittenberg in the winter semester of 1531 . Here he first completed a philosophical degree, which he completed on September 23, 1540 with the acquisition of the academic degree of a master's degree in philosophical sciences. Then he devoted himself to studying law. For this he moved to the University of Leipzig in the winter semester of 1542 . In Leipzig in 1546 he entered the service of the Elector of Saxony with Moritz von Sachsen , was electoral Saxon council and remained so under his successor August von Sachsen .

After the electoral house had ensured that he received the legal professorship of the Codex in Leipzig in 1552 , he completed the baccalaureate and licentiate degree on November 15, 1553 and received his doctorate on March 6, 1554 as a doctor of law. However, he often had to neglect his academic tasks, as he was often on the road in diplomatic missions of the electoral house. Nevertheless, he also took part in the organizational tasks of the Leipzig University and was rector of the Alma Mater in the winter semesters of 1554, 1560 and 1564 . In addition, he became master of Blösen and Abtnauendorf.
