Franz Xaver Lössl

Franz Xaver Lössl (born September 26, 1801 in Brno , † April 25, 1885 in Mixnitz ) was an Austrian architect .

Live and act

Franz Xaver Lössl studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and with Peter von Nobile at the Polytechnic in Vienna. From 1825 to 1829 he lived in Rome as a private citizen . From 1830 he was employed at the architecture school of the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. In 1836 he was appointed a further member there.

Lössl planned and built in the style of classicism and Biedermeier , although taste already changed during its main period of activity. That is why he was not considered when filling a professorship at the architecture school in 1843.
