Franz Löchinger

Franz Löchinger (born November 19, 1978 in Wiener Neustadt ) is an Austrian drummer, cabaret artist and presenter. With his speaking drums, Sandra , he has been touring Austria since 2005 and invites children to join in at events or schools. As an active member of the band, he supports Virginia Ernst on the drums and the music cabaret performers of the Machatschek on an upside-down Baumit bucket, which was specially made for Franz Löchinger and has since become a trademark.

Under the pseudonym The Austrian Drumpower , Löchinger also appears as a show act at major events.

Life

According to his own statements, Löchinger began playing drums when he was four. The autodidact made his live debut at the age of seven. As a teenager he joined the band Daimonion , where he acted as a drummer, songwriter and producer and released the first album.

His studies in journalism and communication studies in combination with political science at the University of Vienna were also shaped by music. The title of his thesis is namely: Establishing a new brand on the radio market using the example of 106.7 Party FM: Localizing the success factors of a private radio station.

Career

In 2004 he joined the dark metal band Vanitas with whom he recorded a total of three albums.

Starting in 2005, Franz Löchinger developed, parallel to his membership in various metal bands, Drums for Kids , an interactive hands-on drum show, which is intended to arouse the creativity and motivation of children and young people. Sandra supports him in this - the speaking drums. In total, Löchinger was a guest in over 500 kindergartens and schools and encouraged around 100,000 children to take part. This is how Robert Steiner became aware of him.

After Vanitas dissolved, Löchinger supported Oliver Linus in the formation Velory Linus in 2006/2007, and the metal band Goddamned X in 2007/2008. From 2009 to 2011 he played drums for the band Heathen Foray and achieved the title Best Austrian Newcomer with them 2009 . From 2011 until their dissolution in 2012 he played for the Lower Austrian band Trashcanned.

In 2012 Löchinger changed the genre and has since supported the musician and cabaret artist of the Machatschek, performing with him in Austria and neighboring countries.

In 2017, Franz Löchinger also worked with the Austropopers Gary Lux , Ulli Bäer , Austrobockerl, Harald Fendrich, Robby Musenbichler and, from 2018, as part of World Womens Day and the #WEARE project launched by Virginia Ernst with GuGabriel , Gisele Jackson , Simone Kopmajer , Karin Bachner , Die Mayerin , Tini Kainrath , Agnes Palmisano , Meena Cryle , Birgit Denk , Stella Jones , and Iris Camaa together.

In 2018 he also presented a 10-part children's program with speaking drums on the private television broadcaster WNTV
