Franz Politzer

Franz Politzer (born May 2, 1950 in Vienna ) is an Austrian painter.

education

Franz Politzer studied geology for two years after graduating from high school , before he devoted himself to studying painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, which he successfully completed in 1975. He also played basketball on the side. He is still active as a referee today.

Professional background

He has been working as a freelance artist since graduating. He had exhibitions in Vienna, Linz , Frankfurt am Main , Cologne , Maastricht , London , and took part in art fairs in Vienna, Basel and Washington, DC Stations in life in the 1980s were Langenscheid , Diez and Limburg , where he had his studio until 1993 retained. Politzer has lived and worked in Millstatt , Carinthia, since 1991 . In 1998 he designed illusionistic productions for the Lower Austrian Danube Festival at its venues in Krems and St. Pölten . In 2000 he founded the Politzer Collection by donating two etchings. In 2003, Politzer set up the media funnel in the Main-Echo's publishing house in Aschaffenburg .

Prizes and awards

  • 1974 Prize of the federal capital Vienna at the Austrian graphics competition in Innsbruck
  • 1992 Rheinische Kunstpreis in recognition of his overall work and his personality.
