Franz Lubricant

Franz Lubricant OSB (born December 8, 1679 in Grönenbach , † November 22, 1728 in Feldkirch ) was a Benedictine and professor of canon law .

Life

In 1696 Lubricant entered the Benedictine monastery in Ottobeuren , made his profession on December 8 , was ordained a priest on April 22, 1703 and subsequently studied in Salzburg . He was at the university in 1706 to Dr. iuris and professor of canon law. In 1708 and 1712 he was elected Dean of the Faculty of Law. On November 6, 1713 he became rector of the University of Salzburg . He retained the office of rector until his death, but resigned the professorship in 1715 and from then on devoted himself to the St. Johann priory in Feldkirch in Vorarlberg . In 1728 he was appointed Apostolic Protonotary . He was the older brother of the Benedictine Benedict Lubricant .
