Franz Weber (librarian)
Franz Weber , complete Friedrich Franz Helmut Weber (born September 25, 1881 in Greifenhagen , † December 14, 1962 in Lübeck ) was a German librarian and medalist.
Life
Franz Weber studied German language and literature and in 1910 with a dissertation on the Bremische German society at the University of Königsberg Dr. phil. PhD. He found his first job at the Szczecin City Library , today Książnica Pomorska .
From 1911 he worked at the city library (Lübeck) as a scientific librarian and later also as deputy director. After director Gustav Struck moved to Wiesbaden on August 1, 1940, Weber took over the provisional management of the city library until 1945.
In Lübeck he also designed portrait medals as an autodidact , including on Ernst Curtius , plaques and small wooden sculptures.
