Franz Weißenberger (born March 3, 1938 in Mainz-Kastel ; † May 26, 2014 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After completing a commercial apprenticeship, Weißenberger worked for the Wiesbaden city ​​council from 1958 to 1967 . He lived until the end in the Eltville district of Martinsthal .

Political offices

In 1967 he ran for the office of full-time mayor of the Martinsthal community. After being elected by the municipal council, he held this office from 1967 until Martinsthal was incorporated into the city of Eltville am Rhein on January 1, 1977 as part of the regional reform in Hesse . In December 1976, the Martinsthal community council granted him honorary citizenship. He was then from September 6, 1977 to September 5, 1995 in three six-year electoral terms for 18 years full-time First City Councilor of the city of Eltville am Rhein. He was considered a proven expert in building management.

Weißenberger was also a member of the CDU parliamentary group in the district council , but returned his party book in 2006 because he did not agree with developments in the district CDU.

He was also a member of the association assembly of the Rhein-Main-Taunus water procurement association, was on the board of the Rheingau waste collection association for 20 years , deputy head of the Upper Rheingau wastewater association and also took on other functions in the renovation of the old town in Eltville, the Martinsthal village renewal and the Hessian City Council.
