Glink learned the carpentry trade from his father in Munich. In addition, he carved and built nativity scenes. The painter Johann Peter von Langer noticed his artistic talent. Glink studied from April 26, 1813 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Johann Peter von Langer.

In 1820 he created two large-format works on religious themes: the “Adoration of the Shepherds” and “Christ as the Gardener after the Resurrection”.

In 1823, Glink received a travel grant from Peter von Cornelius to Rome , where he stayed for a year.

Together with Wilhelm Lindenschmit the Younger , Michael Neher and other artists, he created frescoes from 1834 to 1837 - mostly based on the templates of Moritz von Schwind - in the Hohenschwangau Castle, which was converted by Domenico Quaglio and Georg Friedrich Ziebland for Crown Prince Maximilian .

After that he dealt almost exclusively with religious topics. The influence of the Nazarenes is noticeable in his works .
