Franz Xaver Steindl (born May 3, 1858 in Irnsing ; † February 10, 1931 in Neustadt adDonau ) was a brewery owner, mayor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Steindl attended the elementary school in Irnsing and from 1869 to 1871 the trade school in Regensburg . In 1890 he took over his father's property in Irnsing. He was a district fire department representative since 1890 and from 1896 a member of the Lower Bavarian district fire department committee. He was the owner of the Bavarian Fire Brigade Merit Cross and the badge of honor for 25 years of fire service.

Since 1891 he was a member of the Abensberg District Council and since 1894 committee member of the same. In 1896 he was elected mayor of the Irnsing community, which he stayed for 15 years. He was a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies from 1897 to 1907 and from 1907 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency Niederbayern  6 ( Kelheim , Rottenburg , Mallersdorf ) and the German Center Party .
