Franz von Perfall

Franz Freiherr von Perfall (born July 11, 1879 in Greifenberg ; † March 27, 1966 ) was a German forester and landowner.

Life

Perfall studied forestry and law in Munich and Berlin . In 1904 he took over the forestry management of the family property, five years later he became the Fideikommisserbe Königlich Bayerischer Kämmerer. In 1918 he was a co-founder of the Bavarian Forest Owners Association, of which he was chairman from 1932 until it was dissolved in 1934. From 1919 until the dissolution of 1934, he also sat on the board of the National Federation of Forest Owners Associations as well as he co-founded Empire Forestry Council .

After the Second World War, the regional association for the Bavarian non-state forest was re-established, which was given its old name back in 1964. Perfall was its first chairman from 1946 until his resignation in 1954 and then honorary chairman. In 1950 the German Forestry Council was also re-established, of which he was chairman from 1950 to 1953. He was also the main initiator of the forest school for training foresters in private and communal forests in Mickhausen ( Augsburg district ) and the forestry school in Hohenkammer ( Freising district ). From its founding in 1947 to 1951, he was a member of the Bavarian Senate .
