Franziska Bobe

Franziska Bobe (born March 25, 1982 in Halberstadt ) is a German oratorio and lieder singer with a soprano voice .

Life

Franziska Bobe received her first musical training at the Landesgymnasium für Musik Wernigerode . After graduating from high school, she studied school music at the University of Music in Würzburg (state examination in 2007) and then took up vocal studies with Martin Hummel, which she later continued with Monika Bürgener. In 2009 she sang Euridice in Claudio Monteverdi's L'Orfeo and Pamina in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Magic Flute in concert performances at the Würzburg Opera School .

Since completing her vocal studies in 2011, Franziska Bobe has appeared as a soloist in the performance of numerous works from different stylistic periods. One focus was the collaboration with Kay Johannsen as part of the Stiftsmusik Stuttgart, in particular the regular participation in the Bach concert cycle, which ran from 2011 to 2021 : vocal for the performance of all cantatas, oratorios and other vocal works by Johann Sebastian Bach . She also worked with Frieder Bernius (e.g. Georg Friedrich Händel Israel in Egypt 2009) and Jörg Straube (Claudio Monteverdi Marienvesper 2011) and worked on the 2014 CPO recording of Heinrich von Herzogenberg's funeral under the direction of Matthias Beckert With.

Her national activities as a soloist led her a. a. also to the Thomaskirche in Leipzig , where she impressed in March 2017 with the soprano solo of Bach's St. Matthew Passion .

repertoire

Franziska Bobe's repertoire as a soprano soloist includes works from the baroque, classical and romantic periods through to new music. These include the Marian Vespers by Claudio Monteverdi , The Messias by Georg Friedrich Händel , the Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Paulus and Elias by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy , the Christmas Oratorio by Camille Saint-Saëns and the Requiem by Fredrik Sixten . A special focus of her work is the vocal works of Johann Sebastian Bach , both the solo parts of the Christmas Oratorio , the Passions and the B minor Mass , as well as numerous cantatas, including the virtuoso solo cantata O holder Tag, Desired Time . She also took part in concert operas as Pamina in the Magic Flute and as Marzelline in Fidelio .
