Mrs. Pepper Pot ( jap. スプーンおばさん Supun Oba-san , German literally: "Aunt spoon") is an anime - TV show from 1983. It is based on the children's book Little Old Mrs. Pepperpot the Norwegian writer Alf Prøysen .

The elderly lady, Frau Pfeffertopf, lives with her husband, a painter, in a small village. Whenever Frau Pfeffertopf sneezes, she shrinks to the size of a teaspoon. She also wears one around her neck and drags it behind her when she is little. In her small form she can talk to animals and therefore makes friends with them. She also meets the girl Lily in the forest, with whom she has some adventures. However, she always seeks her husband when she has shrunk, after which she tries to sneeze in order to grow again. Nor is she allowed to show herself to strangers in her small form.

Frau Pfeffertopf was produced by Gakken in 1983 and animated by Studio Pierrot . The series has 50 episodes. Directed by Tatsuo Hayakawa , the character design is by Kōji Nantsuka . The artistic direction took Mitsuki Nakamura . The series was broadcast from April 4, 1983 to March 9, 1984 on NHK .
The anime has aired in the United States , France , the Netherlands , Hungary , Norway , Italy, and Poland , among others , and has been translated into Arabic and Spanish . The series was broadcast on German television in 1995 on RTL II . More broadcasts in German-speaking followed in Toggolino of Super RTL .
In 1986, Schleich sold eight different PVC figures for the series.
