Freddie Hice (born before 1974) is an American stunt man , stunt coordinator, second unit director and actor .

Life

Freddie Hice, who occasionally appears as Freddy Hice or Fred Hice in movie credits , began working as a professional stuntman in the 1970s. He followed the example of his father Eddie Hice, who had worked in the films Planet of the Apes , among other things . Freddie Hice had his first major success in 1974 when he was hired as a stuntman for the monumental disaster film Earthquake .

Hice, who runs the Brand X company together with other stuntmen and second unit directors, is particularly known as a specialist in stunts that involve motor vehicles. He took part in a mass pile-up of numerous police cars in the film Blues Brothers, which has become legendary in film history, and staged countless spectacular car races and car chases for films such as The Fast and the Furious or Just 60 Seconds .

As an actor, Hice mostly only played supporting roles, for example in Grease 2 and Beastmaster - The Liberator. His brief appearance as hapless bank robber Bobby achieved cult status in Paul Verhoeven's satirical action film RoboCop from 1987, which culminates in one of the most drastic death scenes in film history ("Can you fly Bobby?").
