Frederic Sellers

Frederic Aked Sellers , Kt , PC , KC , MC (born January 14, 1893 ; † March 20, 1979 ) was a British lawyer who was Lord Justice of Appeal between 1957 and 1968 .

Life

Frederic Aked Sellers completed a law degree and took up a position as a barrister after being admitted to the bar ( Inns of Court of Gray's Inn ) . He took part in the First World War and was awarded the Military Cross (MC). For his services he was appointed on February 11, 1935 Attorney General (King's Counsel) appointed. On July 11, 1938, he was appointed honorary judge ( recorder ) for the Borough of Bolton .

On February 13, 1946 Sellers was a Judge of the High Court of Justice appointed, one of the Senior Courts of England and Wales , the first instance dealt with all major and important cases and also overseeing all lower ranked courts (Courts) and many arbitration courts (Tribunal) Has. Shortly afterwards he was beaten on March 6, 1946 to the Knight Bachelor (Kt), so that from now on he led the name suffix "Sir". On January 11, 1957 he was Queen Elizabeth II. As a Lord Justice of Appeal to any of the judges of that for England and Wales competent Court of Appeal ( Court of Appeal ) appointed. He was at the same time on January 19, 1957 as a member of the Secret Privy Council ( Privy Council ) appointed. He held the office of Lord Justice of Appeal until 1968.
