Fredrik Gyllenborg (1767-1829)

Count Fredrik Gyllenborg ( December 10, 1767 - August 18, 1829 ) was a Swedish military officer and Minister of Justice from 1810 to 1829 .

He came from the Swedish noble family Gyllenborg and was a son of assessor and count Gustaf Adolf Gyllenborg (1743–1789). He joined the military at an early age and in 1780, at the age of 13, became an ensign in the Uppland regiment . From 1782 he studied at the University of Uppsala for three years jurisprudence , left the military career and entered 1785 into the judicial revisions. In 1792 he became an assessor at the Swedish court , the following year he became an auditor and general auditor, in 1796 administrator of the Chancellery and in 1809 a judicial councilor. In the following year he was appointed Minister of Justice in place of Count Carl Axel , a position he held until his death in 1829. In 1818 Gyllenborg, who had remained unmarried, had become a doctor of law in Uppsala ; he had also been a knight of the Seraphine Order .
