The Free Waldorf School Augsburg was founded in 1981 and is located in the Hammerschmiede district of Augsburg . The pupils are trained according to the Waldorf pedagogy established by Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925) . Like all German Waldorf schools , it is a member of the Association of Independent Waldorf Schools .

The private school is state-approved and follows Rudolf Steiner's educational concepts, which are reflected, among other things, in the fact that the training area extends from elementary school to the Abitur and special emphasis is placed on a wide range of artistic and practical subjects. Every pupil goes through the entire school career in the community of his class - a non-promotion as with other school types does not occur here.
