Michael von Székely

Michael von Székely (* 1703 in Warschaad ; † January 16, 1772 in Radau in Upper Silesia ) was a royal Prussian major general and chief of the Hussar Regiment No. 1 .

He comes from Hungary, his father was an imperial colonel . In 1722 he sold the Warschaad estate in Tolnenser County to the Count of Mercy (who later fell near Parma).

He himself entered the Saxon service in 1726 and Prussian in 1733. On October 20, 1733 he became Premier Lieutenant of the Hussars. In 1734 he was transferred to the Hussar Regiment No. 2 (Beneckendorff). In 1741 he received his own squadron with the Brown Hussars. After the battle of Chotusitz he became a major in May 1742 and a lieutenant colonel and commander of the regiment in June 1749 . In September 1750 he became a colonel and received Hussar Regiment No. 1 (Dewitz). In April 1758 he was appointed major general. In the same year he asked to leave and was granted it because his health was very bad.

He died on his estate in Radau near Guttenau in Upper Silesia.

He was married to one of Witzleben's . He may have been married to one of Gobben's before . The daughter Augustine († January 2, 1820 in Breslau) was married to Hans Karl Friedrich von Jeetze († March 7, 1793) since 1765 .
