Friðrik Karlsson (called Frissi ) (born April 24, 1960 in Iceland ) is an Icelandic professional musician.

Friðrik has been a professional musician since he was 16. He studied at the conservatory . With the band Mezzoforte he recorded 13 studio albums from 1977 until today, on which he was also significantly involved as a composer. The guitarist (he sees himself primarily as a studio musician) lived with his wife in England for about 20 years from 1996 . Today he lives again in his native Iceland.

Friðrik was involved in various music projects such as Evita , the film with Madonna in the lead role, as well as the musicals Jesus Christ Superstar and Saturday Night Fever . He has worked for musicians such as Madonna, José Carreras , JK ( Jamiroquai ), Marti Pellow ( Wet Wet Wet ), Andy Williams , David Cassidy and Tom Jones . His string playing can be heard on albums by Boyzone , Cliff Richard , Westlife , Atomic Kitten , Five , Emma Bunton , Hear Say and Ronan Keating .

In 2014 he was part of the band in the concert series Before the Dawn by Kate Bush .

He has published an entire wellbeing music series under the title The Feel Good Collection .
