Cemetery Cross (Daignac)
The cemetery cross in Daignac , a French commune in the Gironde department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was erected in the 17th century. In 1925, the cross was added to the list of architectural monuments in France as a monument historique .
On a rectangular base stands a fluted column , which is crowned by a cross. Jesus Christ is depicted on the cross and Saint Christopher with the baby Jesus on his shoulders on the back .
A legend from the Middle Ages said that if you looked at the cross you would be spared from accidents all day.
