The Friedrich List School (abbreviation: FLS Wiesbaden ) is a vocational school and a vocational high school in Wiesbaden .
history
On April 22, 1902, the school was initially founded by the State of Prussia as an advanced training facility for merchants. At the beginning it counted about 270 pupils, who were taught in different school facilities, as no school premises were available yet. Schoolchildren were taught separately.
During the time of the First World War , all teachers were called up for military service, as a result of which teaching was almost completely stopped. After the end of the war, the school was reopened as a commercial college on April 24, 1919. In 1939 it was finally given its own building on Manteuffelstrasse.
In 1948 the commercial college was divided into an independent vocational school (later Schulze-Delitzsch-Schule in Wiesbaden) under the direction of vocational school director Urban and into a business school, a higher commercial school and a commercial school under the direction of senior studies director Traumüller, thus forming today's Friedrich-List-Schule has been. It is named after the German economist Friedrich List , a founder of modern economics. In 1960 the business school was established, which leads to the general university entrance qualification and is now attended by the majority of the student body. In 1967 they moved into new buildings in Brunhildenstrasse, where the school is still located today.
In 1968 the school was expanded to include a technical high school and a two-year vocational college, and later a vocational school for commercial professions. The higher commercial school was taken over by the surrounding schools in the so-called “vocational school center”. The technical high school and the business high school were later generally merged to form the vocational high school with various branches.
In June 2003 the founding meeting of the Friends and Friends of the Friedrich-List-Schule e. V. instead.

particularities
- From 2008 to 2012, the students in the advanced mathematics course created an annual online Advent calendar in cooperation with the Wiesbadener Kurier and from 2009 with the Frankfurter Rundschau , which attracted national attention. This was designed in such a way that an arithmetic problem was asked every day, which could be answered online. According to the students, the tasks should have to do with everyday life and, despite the degree of difficulty, should be able to be solved with simple upper-level mathematics. The solutions were announced the next day in the Frankfurter Rundschau. According to the school management, the calendar should show the practical use of mathematics and arouse interest in the population. The participants with the most correct answers received a prize.
